IDs are being enforced but are also a reward

Ran out the door and forgot your ID? Wanting to leave school for lunch? We chatted with several teachers and administrators about the rules and procedures around campus and how they should be followed.

One of the biggest things enforced is that students wear their ID while on campus. It is important to wear your ID to make sure that those on campus are supposed to be on campus. It helps keep the campus safe. Your first ID is free but each one after that can be purchased for $10 in the Activities Office.

One of the newest policies is the cellphone policy. All technology other than a laptop is to be put away during class time. This includes phones, earbuds, etc. Teachers need your full attention so they can teach and help students learn. If you are on your phone, you can’t pay attention to what teachers are saying.

Juniors and seniors may leave campus during lunch if they have a lunch pass, which can be purchased for $25. They must have a 2.0 or higher GPA and have turned in the form with a guardian's signature. They then get the sticker from Mrs. Schrier and place it on their ID.

Students who want to park in one of the campus’ parking lots must get a parking pass from the Activities Office. Juniors and seniors can purchase a parking pass for $50. You must fill out and turn in the parking form with a guardian’s signature. Show your driver’s license, car registration and car insurance to Mrs. Schrier and then place the decal on your car.

It’s important to have this decal so the school knows who is on the campus. If there were to be an accident, they would have the information on file.

Visitors are welcome to visit the campus as long as they check in at the front office and show an ID, like a driver's license. They will be given a name badge that has to be visible while on campus.

The Bulldog Way is the school’s guide to being successful on campus. The Bulldog Way has 6 key points to help students be the best version of themselves.

  1. Cellphone put away. Laptop out.

  2. Show up on time, every time.

  3. Dude, be nice!

  4. Know where to be.

  5. Keep it clean.

  6. Be better today than yesterday.

Consequences of not following the rules can range from student/parent/teacher conferences to being suspended to worse.

Breaking these rules may have serious consequences but they are in place to keep everyone on campus safe and ensure we have a great school year.
