How to celebrate Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s Day coming up, it can be hard to think of what to do on that special day. Here are some inexpensive and fun ideas to celebrate the day of love.

Having a movie night is always a classic. Go to the theater and get a popcorn or grab your favorite snacks and watch a show at home. Plan a movie marathon with your friends filled with action-packed thrillers or an evening with your special someone watching romantic comedies.

Hosting a game night filled with board, card and video games is an underrated option. This inexpensive idea requires little planning and no need to leave the house or make a reservation, so you can just stay home and have a blast!

You can whip up some delicious Valentine’s Day treats. You can make heart-shaped cookies, cupcakes or chocolate dipped strawberries. Pinterest has lots of fun and easy recipes for all skill levels. You can bake them together or even have a competition.

DIY gifts are a crafty way to show your love for one another. Handmade cards, bracelets and so much more is a cheap and sentimental way to show how much you care.

A more traditional way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to get dinner downtown. This can be a pricier option, but it’s lots of fun. Things to plan for would be: making a reservation for dinner, buying flowers for your date or planning a cute outfit to wear.

After dinner, you and your date could get ice cream somewhere downtown at a place like Whit’s, Pat and Toni’s or Berryville. The Best Mainstreet in America lives up to its name at night.

Valentine’s Day is all about love, so whatever you do, have fun with those you care about!
