Prom tips for before and during prom

   Some extra notes prom night can be long. Drink plenty of water throughout the evening, and pace yourself if there are refreshments. Be mindful of the weather if you’re spending time outdoors. Stick with your friends and look out for each other. Prom can add up quickly, Decide on a spending limit for your attire, transportation and dinner. Consider carpooling or splitting costs with friends. 

  



Prom with friends

 

Decide how you’re going to be getting to and from prom. If you’re going with a group, consider chipping in for a gas money or a limousine. Make sure you have a designated driver for to and from places during prom. 


  Focus on making memories with the people you care about. Don’t worry about keeping up with appearances or getting the perfect picture. Just relax and enjoy the night.  Prom night is a special event and, with a little planning and positive attitude, you’re sure to have an unforgettable experience. Have an idea of what to do after prom ends as well. 


 Get together with your friends beforehand for a fun activity like getting ready together, having a potluck or playing games. This can help create lasting memories in addition to the prom itself!


Invite friends who might not otherwise have a date or prom group. Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. Mingle with classmates you might now know as well, compliment someone’s outfit, or introduce yourself to new people. 


   Capture candid moments; instead of focusing on staged photos, captures candid moments throughout the night. These can be even more fun to look back on and reminisce about later.


Learn a fun and easy group dance beforehand, like the Cupid Shuffle or the Wobble. Teach it to your friends and get everyone moving! Keep the energy high on the dance floor by requesting upbeat songs and encouraging your friends to join in. You can even create a fun group dance playlist beforehand that you can listen to during the ride to prom. 


   Some ideas to do beforehand are, game night; whether it be classic board games, video games, or even silly minute-to-win-it challenges can create a lighthearted atmosphere. Have a themed potluck: assign everyone a dish to bring that matches the prom theme. 


Embrace the fun, you should let loose on the dance floor, mingle with your classmates and savor the night. Prom is a time to celebrate your achievements and friendships. Learn some popular dances beforehand, or just follow the flow of the music and have fun with your friends!
