Now is the time for the class of 2024 to paint their senior parking spots. Seniors spent hours across a handful of days before the first day of school and after.

To combat the heat during the afternoon paintings, many students brought tents and waters. Some took breaks in between to cool off and hydrate.
For an average parking spot, it would probably take two days to finish a spot. Most students gave their spots a base coat of at least two layers for the color to pop out.
Painting was expensive; one gallon is about $30. Paint brushes and other tools like stencils can cost money too.
It was not easy to paint a spot that includes detail. The asphalt was rigorous to paint on and would get hot quickly from the sun.
The paint dried quickly from the sun as well. It sped up the process of painting very much. Some students split it up by multiple days because of the heat.
Every spot was well done and reflected their owner’s personality. Some spots were in a great location because of the shade and proximity to the exit.
Lots of seniors painted their parking spots, and it was fun to rate them. Some students purchased two spots together and combined them into one design.
One of my favorites was a butterfly. I also enjoyed the cow print designs because they were well thought out.
The overall best senior parking spot was the one with a “Dora the Explorer” theme. It was close to the exit, had shade, and was well-designed.
A close second was the “Monopoly” themed spot. It was also in the shade and close to the exit.

I was hoping to purchase that spot, but unfortunately, they beat me to it.
If you are a senior with a car, I recommend painting a spot. It is nice to have a designated parking spot and a great way to start off senior year.
